The Boyle's Law Apparatus is designed to demonstrate and verify Boyle's Law, which states that the pressure of a fixed mass of gas is inversely proportional to its volume at constant temperature.
Construction:
The apparatus consists of a strong glass tube mounted vertically in front of a graduated scale calibrated from 0 to 65 cm³. A column of air is trapped within the tube by oil contained in a metal pressure chamber. The chamber is fitted with a Bourdon-type pressure gauge for measuring and controlling the pressure applied to the trapped air.
