LIME-8200/71

Sonometer Wooden LIME-8200/71

The Wooden Sonometer is a precision acoustics apparatus used for studying the laws of vibrating strings and the relationship between frequency, tension, length, and linear density. It consists of a hollow wooden sounding box that amplifies the sound produced by vibrating strings, making resonance experiments clear and effective.
The apparatus is fitted with three stretched wires mounted between fixed bridges. One wire is connected to a spring balance for direct tension measurement, another passes over a pulley for loading with weights, and a third wire is provided for comparison experiments with adjustable tension.
